Kloop: Journalism, Blogging and Education in One Pack

Abstract: I would like to share my experience of Kloop: a web-based project that I started two years ago in Kyrgyzstan. It started as a simple blog on WordPress, and today it is one of the biggest blogging platforms in the whole region of Central Asia.

It it also a journalism training centre for high school and university students, and we achieved some success: some of our alumni started being hired by “serious” media! We are going to go through a serious upgrade of our educational area in November 2009, and that’s what I will basically talk about: our innovations in journalism education, our new ideas and our experience.
