Social Activities
An inseparable part of the Youth Forums are intercultural social activities and the trips to explore the beauties of the host country, offered during the day and in the evening.
These are a few of them:
It has become a good tradition to host the cultural Expo night, a festival and exhibition of the diversity of the cultures present at the Youth Forum . It is an exhibition of anything that is typical for one’s land, cultures and inhabitants – food, drinks (non-alcoholic for the majority! – debaters) typical items, clothing, pictures, music, etc. It usually ends with dancing and singing together on music that many of you have not heard before. Check out some photos.
It has also become almost a tradition for the host to offer a peak into their own culture. Last two hosts taught us how to dance and play bag pipes. In Czech Republic a live band played music combining elements of traditional music with the use of strange musical instruments, like industrial pipes or cans from paint. What’s it gonna be this year? Find out yourself and join us in July!
Additionally debaters have annually proven wrong the common stereotype that debaters aren’t good at anything else but debating. The talent night is there to show the great variety of talents from all over the world. Check out the video to see we are right!
Traditionally we also play a lot of teambuilding and get-to-know-each-other games, and also cards, board games and mafia. We also provide an ample of opportunities to play sports and do some dancing, even under the supervision of the dance masters.
As every year, also this year, there will be offering one whole day trip and one half day trip throughout the Youth Forum. There are many fascinating destinations throughout The Netherlands for every type of tourist and we will recommend many of them to suit your needs.
