The Macedonian Debate Association, part of Youth Educational Forum [YEF] is proud to once
again announce the annual international debate tournament ’’Macedonia Open’’. At the same
time, we are delighted to invite you to be a part of the 6th happening of this wonderful debate
experience.
“Macedonia Open 2008” will be held between December 12th and 14th 2008 in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. We organize this event for the sixth time with the aspiration to cordially accept once again our confirmed friends and welcome new guests.
The format of the tournament will be Karl Popper. The tournament will be organized under the motto “Global challenges require global action”. Thus the resolution to be debated is the following:
“The global financial downturn should be resolved on a global level”
The official language of the tournament will be English. The participation fee for the tournament is 25 EUR per person (same price, debaters & coaches) and it also covers accommodation and catering during the event. Debaters will be staying in a youth hostel and/or offered home stay and coaches will be accommodated in a hotel in the centre of Skopje.
Registration will be open on a first come, first served basis. Please have in mind that the number of teams is limited and there is a cap of two teams per country. The participation of a third team will be possible if additional places available. Therefore we advise you to register as soon as possible.
The deadline for registration is November 17th.
In addition to the tournament we are preparing a number of leisure activities hoping to make this event another unforgettable experience for all of you.
